How to Use Name Labels for Daycare

Daycare is a time of exploration, curiosity, excitement, and learning. One way to make the experience even better is with name labels. Name labels for daycare can help you identify students, allow students to learn each other’s names, and keep track of what belongs to whom, making the experience better for everyone.

If you’re looking to make the year start with less chaos, you should look into name labels! Here is how to properly use name labels for daycare.

Clothing

Labels made for clothing are essential for daycares! The most common use for name labels on clothing is, of course, having each child wear name labels. This allows you to easily identify all of the kids and learn their names. It can also help children learn each other’s names as well.

They can also be put on clothing that’s not actively being worn in the facility. This could be their coats and boots for recess or extra clothing they have brought in case they have an accident.

Clothing labels can also be put on aprons and gloves, which can be worn during different activities like painting, water table activities, and planting flowers. This ensures that each kid will have a designated article of clothing in class so there aren’t any arguments over smocks and other clothing provided by the daycare.

                 name labels for shoes.

We have high-quality name labels for daycare that can be simply stuck on or even ironed on, depending on what’s needed.

Shoes

We also carry name labels for shoes. These are specifically made to fit inside the shoe without getting damaged or worn off easily. These durable labels will help children keep track of their pair of shoes, and even learn which shoe is for which foot.

Lunch

Kids heading to daycare often bring their own lunch containers. Have students put name labels on their containers for eating and drinking to avoid them getting used by the wrong child. This can help avoid germs and keep kids safe. Some children have certain allergies and you don’t want them eating the wrong meal.

Backpacks

Backpacks are another common item you might want to think about labeling, whether you are a parent worried about your child misplacing their belongings or a caretaker striving for better organization! Since the children may all hang their backpacks near each other, you don’t want any mixups. Labels can be put on the inside of backpacks as well.

Cubby

To keep your room organized, have kids put their belongings in the same cubby every day as part of your daily routine. You can use name labels on the cubby so kids know which one is theirs. This makes the process of staying clean and organized a lot faster and more efficient. It also avoids arguments and any confusion about where to place their things.

Pacifiers

If there are babies and smaller children in your daycare, you can also put name labels on pacifiers and baby bottles. These labels will ensure that everyone keeps their cooties to themselves and go home with their correct belongings. Remember that these labels are removable, so always supervise babies using pacifiers.

  • Smooth surfaces

You can’t stick waterproof labels on fabric, however. Waterproof labels can be removed. Simply lift one corner of the label and slowly lift until it’s entirely off.

  • Smooth surfaces

Peel ‘n Stix labels can be put in the washer and dryer when on clothing. They can also be put in the dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer! Remove these by using rubbing alcohol.

Iron-on labels can be applied with a household iron to any fabric. They can be put through the washer and dryer. They’re not able to be dry-cleaned however. Iron-on labels can’t be removed.
