Sending a child to camp means sending a LOT of gear — and every single piece of it needs a name on it. Our camp labels are designed to make the whole process fast and complete, with waterproof labels for gear and clothing labels for every uniform, sock, and sleeping bag. Whether your child is heading to day camp or spending weeks at a sleepaway program, we have a pack built for it.
Camp Labels: Common Questions
What labels do I need for camp?
You need two types: waterproof labels for gear (water bottles, lunch boxes, flashlights, towels, shoes, and backpacks) and clothing labels for everything fabric (shirts, shorts, socks, underwear, jackets, and sleeping bags). Our Camp Combo Packs include both types in one order — choose iron-on or stick-on for the clothing labels depending on your preference.
What is the difference between the Day Camp Pack and Sleep Away Pack?
The Day Camp Pack includes 101 labels — 53 waterproof gear labels and 48 clothing labels — sized for the essentials a child takes back and forth each day. The Sleep Away Pack includes 201 labels — 105 waterproof gear labels and 96 clothing labels — to cover the full wardrobe and equipment a child needs for weeks away from home. Both packs include your choice of iron-on or stick-on clothing labels.
Should I choose iron-on or stick-on clothing labels for camp?
Iron-on labels bond permanently into the fabric using heat — they are ideal for camp because they survive repeated washing in commercial camp laundry without any risk of peeling. They work best on cotton and cotton-blend fabrics like socks, t-shirts, and shorts. Stick-on clothing labels apply to care tags and are a good choice if you want a removable option or if the garment can’t be ironed.
Are camp labels durable enough for outdoor activities and swimming?
Yes — our waterproof gear labels are built specifically for high-use environments. They survive water play, sunscreen exposure, mud, and repeated washing. The adhesive is designed to stay firmly attached through the entire summer season on plastic, metal, and glass surfaces. For water bottles and containers that go through the dishwasher daily, apply to a clean, dry surface and allow 24 hours to cure before the first wash.
Will camp labels survive washing at camp?
Waterproof gear labels are dishwasher safe and hold up through repeated washing. Iron-on clothing labels are permanent — they bond into the fabric fibres and will not come out in the wash, even in commercial laundry facilities at camp. Stick-on clothing labels are also laundry safe when applied to care tags but are not recommended for repeated high-heat washing over a full camp season.
What surfaces do camp labels stick to?
Waterproof gear labels adhere best to smooth, hard, non-porous surfaces including plastic, glass, and metal. They work great on water bottles, thermoses, lunch boxes, flashlights, and hard-shell cases. They will not adhere to rubber, silicone, or fabric — for those items use our clothing labels instead.
How far in advance should I order camp labels?
Every label is made by hand to order and ships in 1–2 business days. We recommend ordering at least two weeks before camp starts — one week to allow for delivery and one week to get everything labeled before packing day. For sleepaway camp with a large packing list, give yourself even more time to iron on clothing labels and label every item thoroughly.
