- Hand wash if labels are applied to metal surfaces to help prevent premature lifting or peeling around the edges.
- Avoid bleach, detergents with bleach additives, or essential oils—these can cause fading over time, and essential oils can break down the adhesive and lead to adhesive failure.

Extra small rectangle overlays are to be used on extra small rectangle labels and small round overlays are to be used on small round labels. Extra small rectangle name labels fit on most handle type pacifiers and small round labels fit on most button or non-handle type pacifiers.
